Credit Requirements for Secondary Education
More detailed information on course requirements can be found on the Saskatchewan Learning website by looking under Student Services. If you already have some secondary credits you may request a transcript. The staff at Masinahikana Online School can also provide assistance to students who need help in planning what courses they require.

Adult 12 Program
Under the Adult 12 Program, an adult may attain a grade 12 standing by completion of 7 credits. A minimum of 5 credits must be at the 30 level. Prerequisite requirements are waived for adults. Credits may be attained by taking the course from a Saskatchewan secondary school, the Saskatchewan Government Correspondence School, or a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution approved to offer secondary level courses. Please note that learners enrolled in an Adult 12 Program delivered by a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution approved to offer secondary level courses must have a grade 10 standing. Adults also have the option of challenging a departmental examination.

The following course types meet credit requirements under the Regular Program, the Bilingual Program, the Programme Fransaskois and the Adult 12 Program:
Note 1 : An adult as defined in Part VI, 21a of the Regulations under The Education Act, 1995 means a person who is at least 18 years of age and who has been out of school for at least one year. Under Department policy a person who is 19 is also considered an adult.
Note 2 : In most cases locally developed (designated with an L) courses may be used to meet elective requirements only.
